AIRBAG LANDINGRESBAG Systems develops lightweight airbag technology for UAVs equipped with emergency parachute recovery systems. By reducing touchdown loads and impact dynamics, the system helps protect airframes, sensors and valuable mission payloads.
Its impact-mitigation function can also support recovery-system safety objectives and M2 ground-risk mitigation compliance efforts under the EASA MoC to Light-UAS.2512 for the medium level of robustness.
MULTI-PLATFORM DEVELOPMENT
The same protection principle can be adapted to fundamentally different aircraft geometries, mass distributions and payload arrangements — from compact UAVs to significantly larger aircraft.

TESTING & VALIDATION
RESBAG combines analytical prediction with instrumented physical testing to achieve defined impact-performance targets.
01MODEL & DESIGN
Geometry, pressure and venting are designed for defined impact conditions and target load levels.
02DEPLOYMENT TESTING
Physical testing confirms reliable deployment and a stable protective geometry before touchdown.
03IMPACT VALIDATION
Instrumented testing validates predicted deceleration, deformation and energy-absorption behaviour.
VALIDATED ENGINEERING MODEL
Physical testing closely matches the analytical prediction, allowing RESBAG configurations to be tuned toward defined target load levels rather than developed by trial and error.
FIXED-WING TEST PLATFORM
Physical testing confirmed the predicted response of the analytical model for a large multi-chamber configuration.
MULTICOPTER / LIDAR DEMONSTRATOR
A compact demonstrator verified the same design principle on a fundamentally different geometry with a suspended sensor payload.
TECHNOLOGY
RESBAG complements the emergency parachute. The parachute controls the descent; the airbag manages the remaining touchdown energy and reduces the loads transmitted into the aircraft and payload.
RESBAG interfaces with the emergency recovery system and starts the landing-protection sequence automatically.
The compactly stored airbag deploys and reaches its operating condition before touchdown.
The multi-chamber structure and calibrated venting extend the deceleration event and reduce peak loads.
APPLICATIONS
PLATFORM INTEGRATION
RESBAG is developed as a platform-specific protection system. Airbag geometry, installation, activation interface and impact characteristics can be adapted to the aircraft configuration and the components that need to be protected.
ABOUT RESBAG
RESBAG Systems is a Czech technology company developing advanced airbag landing protection for unmanned aircraft. We combine platform integration, analytical design and physical validation to make emergency recovery more practical and less destructive.
